insert clever title here.

Weekends are glorious.

This past weekend was no exception.

While it wasn't full of relaxation & downtime, I had too much fun.  I mean, how can a weekend not start off right when your boss takes you to play golf on Saturday!?  Right!??

I absolutely love my job.  This past Friday, that love grew exponentially.
The boss calls for us to leave at noon for lunch and some good ol' times at Top Golf.

Proof:  My boss & I.
That form, though...

After that, dinner with friends.  No pics though.  I suppose we were too busy being awesome.
Saturday gave me time to clean & organize the casa before I leave for vacation this Saturday. Oh yeah!!!  Saturday night was movie & pizza night with Miss Mattison.  We also made cinnamon roll rabbits.  However, Matti preferred to call the cinnamon roll werewolves.  That's my girl.  Let that geek flag fly!

Sunday morning, we woke up bright and early to celebrate with a Father's Day breakfast.  Even though we always go to breakfast every Sunday morning...I enjoyed this time with my loves.  I'm extremely happy with the life we've made.

Aren't they cute?

After breakfast, we headed to my hometown to have lunch with my daddy-o.  We met up there with my little sis, Laci; her husband, James; my nephew, Colton; my step-bro, Matt & my niece, Giana.

Matti & Giana enjoyed girl time in the pool.

Me & my "seestar".  Blue eyes like our daddy.

Check out that handsome fella. :)

That's my daddy-o!
I can't talk about our visit without acknowledging how cute my nephew, Colton, is.
Matti loves her daddy. The epitome of Father's Day right there.

I hope everyone else had a great weekend & a wonderful Father's Day.

Now, I'm planning for my vacation next week!  Tybee Island, Georgia!!  WOO!!  I'll be roadtrippin' it with my mom & my niece.  Can't wait to share pics of our adventures!!  I plan on stopping along the way in Mississippi, South Carolina and Louisiana.  Who's meeting me for dinner? :)

happy birthday to meeeee!

Hey, friends!  Guess what!?

It's my favorite day of my favorite month!!  Woo!!  I know that not everyone looks forward to their birthdays once they reach a certain age.

I am not one of those people.
I love every single Facebook post, text, call, etc. I love me some attention.

As most of you already know, I celebrate birthday months.  All of April are belong to me.
The festivities start April 1st...and this year was no different.  It started with birthday lunch thanks to my good friend, Mo-Jack.

Sourdough Pile-Up at Plain & Fancy Sandwich Shoppe.

That's my Mo-Jack! :)

Saturday morning was spent cheering on my favorite little softball player.  Go #3!!  Being a first-year softball mom is a pretty awesome birthday gift.  I'm excited.  Plus, my Matti is too much cute.

So much awesomeness packed into a little 8-year old...and the chick's got the attitude to back it all up.  Love her!!
Saturday was filled with two more softball games.  Miss Matti did such a great job for her first year.  They won their second game and we celebrated afterwards with a slushy!

I came home after the games to gorgeous flowers from my mister!  What a man.... :)  I was also surprised to get a super awesome gift in the mail from my little sis.  Unikeys!!  I love them!

Saturday night, the mister & I met up with our friends, Jeff & Anitha for some birthday fun at one of our favorite local joints -- Muddy Jake's.  It was a great night full of comedians -- Bob Biggerstaff, Daryl Felsberg and Owen Dunn.

Jeff and Anitha.  Also, Jeff's facial hair -- now known as "The Reverse Unicorn."

All day today was spent with my mister.  We started with our delicious breakfast at The Red Barn Cafe...a weekend ritual.  Ham & cheese omelet, grits and toast. Yeehaw!

After some shopping, we headed to the theater to check out "Divergent."  Can you say theater to ourselves!?!??  Happy Birthday to me!

The movie was awesome!  I can't wait for the next. We both loved it.  I'm pretty sure I would watch again tonight, if I could.
Now, I'm just relaxing at home with my man.  That's a happy day all in itself.

....and that's just week one, folks.  More birthday month awesomeness to come! :)

my week in photos. // 1

Hi!  Remember me?

I'm that girl from this blog who got a new job and has been SUPER busy.  This in turn has caused me to neglect my blog this month.  I am currently working to get a new schedule down. Promise.
Because of the aforementioned busyness, I am presenting you with my week in photos in what I believe will become a normal thing around here.

Well, I am currently waiting for my new glasses to come in.  I figured that a selfie with my old trusties would be fitting.  They've been good to me, but they are so scratched up now that it's surprising that they are even helping my vision at all at this point.

Miss Mattison insisted on practically every toy and stuffed animal she owns to be in her bed for a super awesome slumber party last weekend. By the way, everyone of them has a name.  Every. One.
The move to my new office was grand.  I'm getting everything all set up.  Of course, no desk of mine is complete without Wonder Woman.

Of course, my other Funko POP! friends are slowly joining the party.  The Force is very strong in this office.

I absolutely LOVE riding around with the mister is his big ol' truck.  I don't even know what we were doing...or where we were going here.  Isn't that sad?
I'm getting old.

Well folks, I'm off to enjoy my weekend!  I'll be doing the music thang in Denison this weekend. Anyone else have big plans?

Enjoy!

merry christmas, ya filthy animal.

Hello, everyone!

I hope you all had a super rad time with your families over the Christmas holidays.  My time was just wonderful.  I'm pretty fond of my fam.

The mister and I....looking all happy and stuff.
We started by celebrating at home together with Miss Matti.  She loved all of her gifts, but really loved her Ho Ho from littlebitfunky.  She's already named it "Brownie."  If you haven't seen them, you should definitely check them out.
Matti loved her HoHo from littlebitfunky!  Check them out...they're awesome!

Jax enjoying his Christmas bone.
Christmas Eve kicked off at my uncle Mike's with our annual breakfast.  I'm not sure why, but this is my favorite family tradition.  The mister even wore his black Santa hat.  (I sometimes refer to him as Johnny Cash for his monochromatic fashion choices).  Because of this hat, we lovingly dubbed him as "Bad Santa."
Granny with Bad Santa.
After breakfast, we stayed to shoot guns with my uncle and cousins.  Highlight of the day.  So much fun...even if I was the only girl.
Bad Santa doing some work with my Glock.

Bang. Bang.
Afterwards, we headed to my mom's house for a much needed nap.  Breakfast & guns will take it out of ya!  That evening, we all met up again at Granny's for our Christmas festivies.

My mom, stepdad & 4-legged baby sister - Izzy.
The mister and spent the night at Mom's that night.  It felt so warm and cozy to be back home with the light from the Christmas tree glowing through the living room.  There's really no place like home.

I will always love this view -- Christmas at Mom's.
We woke up Christmas morning to happy times, good breakfast and lots of presents.

Merry Christmas to the mister. :)

My neice, Lexy, KNOWS how to make some hot cocoa.

I love this shot of Bad Santa.
I said all of this to say -- this was one amazing Christmas.  I so enjoyed my time with my family and really enjoyed my time off from work with the mister.  I'm one happy girl!

So, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from the Henry fam.  Hope your holidays were grand and that you ring in the New Year with awesomeness!
