I don't really consider myself to be fashion forward. My fashion sense is pretty much based on what doesn't itch. I'm cool with this...and that's what matters.
I can't sit and read about fashion. I don't care about fashion. If what I'm wearing happens to be in style, then sweet. I have always been one to do my own thing. I don't just march to the beat of my own drum, I create a drum line and invite everyone to join in! But, I'm cool with this...and that's what matters.
I honestly do admire the girls who are always put together. I give honor to those who are always in style. That's cool. You like to wear heels all day, every day? Go for it! You are way more awesome than I. I have to dress up for work 5 days a week. Ugh. That's enough.
I don't really know what "my style" is. I'm not sure there is an official name for it. I know it's borderline tomboy. Sometimes casual preppy. Who knows.
My favorite clothing items are ripped jeans and chucks. Maybe TOMS. Usually a T-shirt...occasionally something a little bit snazzier, but just as comfortable. Maybe even a black blazer over a t-shirt. I'm so low-maintenance. Thankfully, the mister likes my black t-shirt/ripped jeans ensembles. This is why we work. Of course, he is a black t-shirt and jeans kinda guy. I often refer to him as "Johnny Cash."
If you aren't following me on Pinterest (*gasp*) you can always check out my style board. Maybe you're like me. If so, I'll need to start following YOUR board right away. Feel free to follow all the other random stuff I post. Pinterest has my heart.
What is your style? Got a few favorite items that you always want to wear? Tell me!

And here we go:
- Can you truly pass up seeing The Boss cover Lorde!? No. No, you can't. Springsteen's cover of "Royals" is pretty sweet.
- Ever wonder which superhero you resembled the most? For me, yes...everyday. I thought I was Wonder Woman. Apparently, I'm Captain America. I can live with that. Which Superhero Are You?
- My friend introduced me to MOG this weekend. Anyone else using this? I might be hooked. Especially since I haven't gotten on the Spotify wagon yet. Which is better?
- I seriously died laughing when I saw this. This is so me...sorry. Pin for the win!
- I have been obsessing over this watch for too long. Ugh. It must be mine...soon! I just have to win a little from the lottery first...
- I have big plans to go to my very first Dallas Comic Con in May. I can't stop thinking about it. Anyone else going to be there?
- I have a new love in the form of an Etsy shop. Everyone should check out House of Darkly. So many wants!!! Especially the 8-bit Geek necklace!!
- It's Pi Day! Pi Day! 3.14 Pi Day!

five senses friday #6.
Five Senses Friday is were I reflect on the last week through
the senses. So many fun things transpired this week. I actually had to narrow down the awesomeness. Imagine that!
So, here we go!
My new Chicken Taco Melt recipe. I was throwin' down in the kitchen, thanks to the mighty Pinterest. The new recipe needs a little tweaking for added flavor, but they were still yummy!
Excited that the house shopping has finally begun! The mister and I went to look at a couple of houses this week. I can't wait to find THE one and start moving in!
Amused by the mister's dorkiness. Somehow my phone was out of my hand long enough for me to forget it at home one day. This is what I found when he brought it to me at work:
Doggy snores from Mr. Jax. I promise, this guy can snore with his eyes open. I can't imagine how bad this will be when he's 80 or 90 pounds! Oy!
Cold air & firewood burning. The cool weather has finally come to Texas and I get to wear boots and scarves! Hooray! All is right in the world.
What were some of your experiences this week? Feel free to play along in the comments, find me online or post your own blog!
So, here we go!

Please humor him and take notice of his illustrious "winter man-beard."

So many people and so many cool things at the Canton Trades Days! My little sis and I had a great time people-watching and spending our money.
Cool stuff...but not sure how many waves one can catch in East Texas.
I LOVED these guys!
JACKPOT! I'm always down to add another vintage camera to my collection.
Super awesome vintage metal lunchboxes are ALWAYS tempting!!!

five senses friday #3.
Five Senses Friday is were I reflect on the last week through
the senses. This week has been rather nice. Not too hectic. Not too stressful. I love weeks like these. I especially love that this Texas heat is subsiding and the cool air is starting to show up.
Without further ado, here is my week...
Seems like I've been on a chicken kick this week. It's been a lot of chicken up until last night. The mister cooked his smothered pork chops and homemade bread. YUM! I'm also out of coffee. Ugh. I need to go grocery shopping pretty bad. Looks like I just made plans for my Saturday...
Nostalgic while driving down the backroads of home...especially my favorite road.
Awesome because I could finally wear a scarf. Cool breezes blowing through the house from my open windows. Cold at night because my polar bear of a husband likes to have the windows open AND the fans blowing. Brrrr....
My family from my dad's side at my cousin's wedding. Megan was a gorgeous bride and the wedding & reception were a Pinterest dream! I loved getting to catch up with everyone. I especially loved seeing my Uncle David's sweet dance moves. I'm a proud member of an overly-Caucasian family...
The mister and I also watched "Looper." Pretty cool, if ya ask me. Although Joseph Gordon-Levitt trying to look like Bruce Willis was a little hard to get used to.
The rain hitting the windows. Funny stories from the mister. Country music blasting at the wedding reception. Protests from Jax as we teach him to lay down.
The rain. Home cooking in the kitchen. ....and once again, Jax.
