five senses friday #10.

Helloooooo, blog friends!  It's time for my Five Senses Friday...
Five Senses Friday is were I reflect on the last week or so through the senses.  Enjoy!

Tasting::

SUSHI!  Oh, how I love sushi.  Thanks to the mister, I finally got to enjoy some.  We don't have a sushi place in our town, so I convinced him to take me out.  I hadn't had sushi since July, people!  That's a travesty!  I'm so glad I got my sushi fix....but all this talk is making me want more!

 

Feeling::

Overwhelmingly happy to have celebrated our one year anniversary -- complete with our frozen wedding cake.

Seeing::

Our little Jax growing up so fast and looking like such a big boy.  He's such a handsome guy!

Hearing::

 I am currently listening to so much new music it hurts. :)  And I like it....  I will always be a HUGE fan of the Black Keys though.  They are constantly in rotation.  My favorite!

 

Smelling::

My mister....he sure does smell good. :)

getting to know me: confessions.

Anyone on Facebook has recently seen the posts of "Little Known Facts" about everyone.  I've enjoyed reading them so much, that I've decided to carry it over to my blog.  
Since I'm fairly new around here, I thought that it would be good to let you guys in on some little known facts about me.

1.  My nickname is "Rowdy."  I've had it for years and some people don't even know my real name.

2.  I "punch" people to show affection.  I don't know why.  It's not forceful, just a little "love pat." ;)  I think sarcasm and violence are my friendship love languages.

3.  I was once attacked by a turkey, resulting in a random fear of them for years.

4.  I compulsively eat one thing at a time.  Fries, then the burger.  Sides, then the meat. (see #7)

5.  I have broken my nose twice.  I have an expensive nose.

6.  Our wedding music included an acoustic Metallica instrumental.

7.  I'm OCD.  I love, LOVE buying new cleaning products.  It's my favorite aisle in the grocery store.  Organization makes me happy.  I live to make lists and alphabetize things.  The Container Store gives me goosebumps.

8.  I count all the houses with Christmas lights during the holidays.  No idea why.  (see #7)

9.  I have not seen or read Harry Potter.  I suppose I should get on that...

five senses friday #3.

Five Senses Friday is were I reflect on the last week through the senses.  This week has been rather nice.  Not too hectic.  Not too stressful.  I love weeks like these.  I especially love that this Texas heat is subsiding and the cool air is starting to show up.

Seems like I've been on a chicken kick this week.  It's been a lot of chicken up until last night.  The mister cooked his smothered pork chops and homemade bread.  YUM!  I'm also out of coffee.  Ugh.  I need to go grocery shopping pretty bad.  Looks like I just made plans for my Saturday...

Feeling::

My favorite road in Bells, Texas.

Nostalgic while driving down the backroads of home...especially my favorite road.
Awesome because I could finally wear a scarf.  Cool breezes blowing through the house from my open windows.  Cold at night because my polar bear of a husband likes to have the windows open AND the fans blowing.  Brrrr....

Seeing::

The wedding cake.

Megan & Uncle David.

My family from my dad's side at my cousin's wedding.  Megan was a gorgeous bride and the wedding & reception were a Pinterest dream!  I loved getting to catch up with everyone.  I especially loved seeing my Uncle David's sweet dance moves.  I'm a proud member of an overly-Caucasian family...
The mister and I also watched "Looper."  Pretty cool, if ya ask me.  Although Joseph Gordon-Levitt trying to look like Bruce Willis was a little hard to get used to.

Hearing::

 

The rain hitting the windows.  Funny stories from the mister.  Country music blasting at the wedding reception.  Protests from Jax as we teach him to lay down.

Smelling:: 

The rain.  Home cooking in the kitchen. ....and once again, Jax.
